Earlier, we exclusively talked about Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) surfaced on GFXBench listing. Recently, the smartphone was also leaked in live images revealing the design and color options. Now, the brand has quietly launched the next-gen entry-level smartphone in the Galaxy J series called as Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) in Dubai. The smartphone comes with few upgrades over its predecessor Galaxy J1 that launched last year.
Coming to its specifications part, the Galaxy J1 (2016) flaunts a 4.5-inch (800×480 pixels) WVGA Super AMOLED display offering a pixel density of 218ppi. Under the hood, it comes powered by Exynos 3475 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
On the photographic section, the device features a 5MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfie lovers. It comes with standard connectivity options like 3G HSPA+, 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port. The device has 8GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion.
The handset packs a 2050mAh battery that might be adequate to last for an entire day considering the low-end specifications of the device. The Galaxy J1 (2016) is priced at AED 499 (approx $136/Rs. 9080) and comes in Black, White and Gold color options.
