Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus Budget Android Phone – Leaked Specs, Features, Availability

Samsung is going to bring the Galaxy Pocket Plus phone into the market of budget phones, and there is no actual announcement done by the company as of now, and we are going to see that pretty soon because the information about the phone was made available through one of the leaked ROMs through Samsung KIES. The Galaxy Pocket name isn’t new in the world, as we have already seen the Samsung Galaxy Pocket and the Duos version of it quite long time back, and the model number of the Galaxy Pocket Plus is GT-S5301 as spotted in the leaked information.

The Pocket Plus would be running the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and there is no much information available about the device apart from this, and we are excited to see the announcement anytime soon. The name “Plus” does add a positive factor that the specifications would be improved from what we are seeing in the Galaxy Pocket that is available in the market right now.

The specific ROM which was leaked, was from October and it was available only for the Belgium users, and thus we won’t be able to confirm until it is announced, whether the Galaxy Pocket Plus would be limited in availability or would be available internationally.
There would be upgrades seen for sure, but to refresh what the Galaxy Pocket had, here’s the specifications would could get better in the Pocket Plus.

  • 832MHz single-core ARM 11 processor
  • Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS
  • 2.8-inch QVGA screen at 320 x 480 resolution
  • 2-megapixel rear-facing camera (no front camera)
  • 3GB internal storage, MicroSD slot for storage expansion
  • 1200mAH battery
  • Support for GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 and HSDPA 900 and 2100
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS

There’s only one thing for sure right now, that the Pocket Plus is coming with the ICS, and we could be seeing an update for the Galaxy Pocket too. We’d be happy to see at least a 1GHz processor and a better battery, while the screen could be at least 3-inch in size. For those who are expecting very high from this device, here’s a warning for you. You would complain later for buying it with huge expectations, as it would stay correctly in the budget Android phones list with the limited specs.
