October 27th, 2012:
It was a couple months back when the Samsung Galaxy Premier was spotted, and the specifications were leaked, and then everything got disappeared, until yesterday when we found through our sources that the Premier has passed the Taiwan NCC, and thus we got to know about a lot of actual specs of the device. Along with the specifications that were leaked, there are a few actual solid pictures of the hardware to show something real is coming pretty soon. Codenamed the GT-I9260, Galaxy Premier would have a 4.65-inch display, a little smaller than the 4.8-inch touchscreen of the Galaxy S III.
Samsung has actually executed well on making something that lies in between the large Galaxy S3 and the smaller variant S3 Mini. The Super AMOLED display has a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and the device would come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, while the processor is the dual-core chip from Texas Instruments, speeds clocking at 1.5 GHz, supported by 1GB of RAM.
There would be two cameras, the rear one being an 8-megapixel one, while the front facing camera would be a 1.3-megapixel shooter. NCC is a certification in Taiwan, just like we see the FCC in other countries, and approval from here would indicate its release pretty soon into the market, and based on the certifications and rumors around, it is expected to launch Internationally and in the Europe, so we are not sure whether the US subscribers would be seeing the Galaxy Premier through their network providers.
This could become one of the best budget-friendly phones for the users who were thinking to have something in the mid-range, and not something too low with the specs, and not too high in pricing like the Galaxy S III. Based on the design, its the perfect blend between the S3 devices, but when we talk about the specs it seems to be a little upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus, which had a slower processor, a 5MP camera but everything else almost similar.
What we had learned back in August about the device was that there would be a MicroSD support, making it able to give storage of up to 64GB, and the Premier might be coming in with the variants based on the Internal storage – 8GB and 16GB. We are expecting a Christmas release for the phone, but there is no confirmation about the same from Samsung, and we could extract the above specs only from the certification and leaks.
This would come with a pricing in the mid-range, but what pricing do you expect for the Galaxy Premier, and are you looking forward for its launch? Do share your thoughts in the comments.
