Samsung teased its upcoming Galaxy View tablet alongside the Gear S2 smart watch during the IFA 2015 event. Today, the company has officially announced its largest Galaxy View tablet with massive 18.4-inch screen size. The company does not yet reveal the pricing and availability details of the tablet, but as it has been announced officially, we can expect it to be launched in coming days.
Samsung’s latest Galaxy View tablet comes with taglines such as “think bigger” and a “new dimension of entertainment.” Samsung says that the massive screen has been designed with a video-centric interface in mind and is optimized for ultimate entertainment and media consumption. The tablet features a custom home screen that is filled with the video showcasing apps like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube, all in one place. It also has 4-watt dual powerful stereo speakers for the perfect sound experience.
The Galaxy View flaunts a massive 18.4-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full-HD TFT display with pixel density of 123ppi and comes powered by Exynos 7580 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz paired with Mali-720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device has 32GB/64GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card slot upto 128GB. The device sports a 2.1MP front snapper for video calling with support for 1080p video recording. The single sim capable tablet supports 4G-LTE and connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and microUSB port.
The device comes backed by a 5700mAh battery that is rated to deliver upto 8 hours of video playback on a single charge. The tablet runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Samsung’s UI out of the box. The dimensions of the tablet measure 451.8 x 275.8 x 11.9 mm and is heavy weighing around 2.65 kg. The mammoth sized tablet also comes with a kickstand that can be used as a support for the tablet while watching movies and will be available in Black color variant.
