Over few months, Google is bringing new updates for the Google Keyboard app. Continuing that, a new Google Keyboard v3.2 update is rolled out, and it adds eight new languages to the keyboard. The 8 new languages are Bengali (India), Hindi (Compact), Kannada (India), Malayalam (India), Marathi (India), Tamil (India), Tamil (Singapore) and Telugu (India). The new update brings new organization for the settings screen that has a separate menu for languages, appearance and layout, and multilingual options. The update brings in some bug fixes also.
The update won’t work with Android L preview+. Unfortunately, Google has still not released the Google Keyboard for Indian users on Google Play. However, it comes pre-installed on Android One devices. The previous Google keyboard (v3.1) update that was released earlier this year bought support for many languages.
In July, Google had brought 3.1.19633 update. In that update Google had added five new languages including, Indian English, Basque, Galician, Swiss Italian, and Latin American Spanish. The voice input button was moved and is been shifted to the top right.
Google had released its stock touch keyboard, now called “Google Keyboard,” for download on the Android Google Play Store in the month of July of this year. Anyone with an Android 4.0+ smartphone or tablet can download the app for stock Nexus typing experience to their device. The keyboard includes Voice Dictation, Gesture Typing, and multiple dictionaries.
How to download?
If you want to install the new keyboard app without obstacles of Play Store, or before the automatic update via Play Store arrives (this can sometimes take a few days). You can download the APK and install via side load.
Before installing the APK you have to call in the settings of the Android device to “Security” (may vary slightly depending on the device). Future updates are still via Play Store, since Google signs the APK.
