The newly launched Nexus 5 from Google has been made available on the Play Store already, but with the various networks in the US, it is slowly showing up and one of the early birds here is the Sprint network, which would be selling the Nexus 5 for just $49.99 with a new 2-year contract, and this offer has popped up on Amazon. But crazily, Sprint has kept a price of $449.99 for the unlocked one which the users wanted without a plan – $100 more than what it is available for at the Play Store.
This off-contract pricing is only on Amazon because this price is again $50 higher than what Sprint charges on their official site, so we don’t find a reason why one would want to buy an off-contract device from Sprint on Amazon. The offer on Amazon that one can take advantage of to save some money, is the contract one with Sprint, as this is one of the high-end smartphones you are getting for an initial pay of $50.
Here’s the math for the pricing set by Sprint for Nexus 5 on Amazon:
- Regular Price $449.99
- Instant Savings -$250.00
- Web Only – Switch & Save -$100.00
- Mail-in Rebate via Reward Card -$50.00
So the final pricing comes down to $49.99. A pretty good deal, right?
The buyback offer with Sprint can take it further if you are willing to sell off your current phone before buying the Nexus 5, because you can sell it off to Sprint, even if the device is from the other networks. Though you might not get what you expect from a particular smartphone (we tried the LG G2 and the credits we were getting is $115).
The Nexus 5 comes with a 4.95-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 2300 mAh battery packed in, and it runs the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Head over to Amazon to check out the deal, and if you opt to use the network, go for the offer right away.
