With November 3rd approaching fast, Google wants to make sure that most of their apps are sporting the latest Material Design language. And afresh after rolling out the material design for the Play Store, Hangouts etc. It’s time now for Google to roll out a new design for mobile search as well and all thanks to the folks at Amazon’s Mechanical Turk system where the new design for mobile search has been leaked. Google’s primary money maker is search and with a much needed visual refresh, and even with the material design coming in the simplicity and the neatness is here to stay.
Just in case if you are unaware of what is Amazon’s Mechanical Turk system then it’s basically a platform where developers assign a small repeatable tasks to the paid participants for large scale testing. While we are yet to hear anything from Google about the visual refresh of Google Mobile search, we have mentioned the screen captures on how their new material design for search looks like sworn in with the material design.
It’s being presumed that in amazon’s mechanical turk, account “Project Endor” is run by Google and hosted several Google projects before and instructs participants to go to this address on a Nexus 5 of Samsung Galaxy S5 (may not work for non-members). The mock ups are fully non-functional and users can only select from a few popular terms and links to other websites are also contextual and won’t work. We have mentioned the detailed video on how this new search from Google looks like.
We can only expect that we will be seeing more of the visual elements which are mentioned in this article. Web developers are still looking out for more clarity and reference websites which are fully built on the new material design. In coming days to come we can hope that more and more insights and guidelines are circulated in public when it comes to material design.
