HTC has never left any section in the smartphones ranges lonely, as they have announced the mid-range HTC Desire 601 along with the Desire 300 and a bluetooth speaker, but the best one among all the announcements they made is the Desire 601 which changes the range of a mid-level smartphone, as there are improved levels of specifications such as the connectivity and the internal powering.
The device was already leaked a few days back but now as it gets official, HTC has kicked off the season of smartphones with some good announcement, as several manufacturers are to announce their best devices for the year at the IFA Berlin. The Desire 601 comes with the 4.5 inch qHD screen with the 960 x 540 pixels, which is an IPS display, and internally the phone is powered by a 1.4 GHz Dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, with the GPU being an Adreno 305 one.
Running on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, the HTC Desire 601 has got the new Sense UI from the company, which is always an attraction with the intuitive interface. On the rear side, there’s a 5-megapixel camera with the LED flash, and the extras that you get with the camera, include HTC Zoe with Sequence Shot, Always Smile and Object Removal, Gallery with Video Highlights and HTC Share. On the front, there’s a VGA 0.3-megapixel camera that is made for the video calling.
The 9.88mm thick device is a bit thicker than the earlier announced Desire 600, and the device packs in a 2100 mAh battery. What you get similar to the HTC One in this device, is the HTC BlinkFeed home screen and HTC BoomSound with Dual frontal stereo speakers.
There is no exact availability details shared by the company, but the Desire 601 is expected to be launched in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from October 2013 and there would be color options of White, Black and Red available.
