Along with the high-end HTC One A9, HTC also launched a mid-range smartphone in its Desire series called as HTC Desire 828 in India. The mid-range smartphone was launched in China earlier this month and is the first ever smartphone in the Desire series to come with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support. The Desrire 828 is priced at Rs. 19,990 and unlike the HTC One A9 it is available for sale exclusively online via Flipkart.
Talking about its specifications, the Desire 828 flaunts a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Full-HD display offering a pixel density of 401ppi. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 2GB RAM, 16GB of built-in storage that can further be expanded using a microSD card slot upto 128GB.
Regarding the camera, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, OIS, and a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and super wide angles for video calling and selfie clicks. The device is available in both single sim and dual sim variants and includes connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB port.
Like other HTC devices, the Desire 828 also features dual HTC’s BoomSound speakers on the front with Dolby Audio technology for enhanced sound experience. It comes backed by a 2800mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based HTC Sense 6.0 UI out of the box. The device is just 7.9 mm thick weighs around 150 grams and comes in White and Grey color options.
