Update: According to a Mumbai-based retailer, HTC Desire EYE will go on sale in select offline stores in India starting today. The smartphone will be available for purchase at 35990/-.
HTC had launched Desire Eye for India at the ‘Double Exposure’ event couple of months back. During the event, the company did not reveal the price of the device but had confirmed that it will be available in India exclusively on Amazon. The HTC Desire Eye can be bought in Matt White and Submarine Blue colors.
HTC Desire Eye is mainly made for taking selfies via its 13 MP front camera. Apart from the front camera, the device is decent enough with its hardware and design also.

HTC on Friday announced the Desire Eye for India at the ‘Double Exposure’ event held in Mumbai. The company did not reveal the price of the device but confirmed that it will be available in India exclusively on Amazon late November. It was unveiled earlier this month in New York. The HTC Desire Eye can be bought in Matt White and Submarine Blue colors.
Apart from the Desire Eye, HTC also launched its HTC One M8 EYE for Rs. 38990; RE Camera for Rs 9,990 and the Desire 516C for Rs 12,990. The company also launched the Desire 820 and Desire 820q, which were priced at Rs 24,990 and Rs 22,500.
HTC Desire Eye is the new smartphone that got announced yesterday and will be featured into the HTC’s famous Desire series. This device is mainly made for taking selfies via its 13 MP front camera. Apart from the front camera, the device is decent enough with its hardware and design also. We have seen that the company’s 2014 flagship devices couldn’t make much market and since then HTC has been coming out with different range of devices.
HTC Desire eye is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad core processor. It has 5.2 inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution that gives a pixel density of 424ppi. It also includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass sensors. The device has 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal storage. The device also has a Li-ion 2400 mAh battery on the back to power it.
The device is IPX7 certified, making it dust and waterproof device like most of the flagship devices of 2014. HTC Desire Eye runs on android OS v4.4 KitKat features HTC’s sense UI 6.0 interface. The device also has different connectivity options like LTE connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/AC, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, NFC and a microUSB port.
The selfie smart phone comes with 13 megapixel rear as well front facing camera. It is the first smartphone which boasts 13 megapixels at front. It also features a dual LED flash on both the front and at the back. Both cameras have dual LED flash and capable of shooting 1080p@30fps videos. The rear camera features an f/2.0 aperture and a 28mm lens, while the front-facing camera features an f/2.2 aperture with a 20mm lens. HTC has also included a hardware shutter button
HTC has included many new features in its camera app such as, split capture, crop me in, face fusion, live makeup, and photo booth. Desire Eye comes with two selfie modes namely auto and voice selfies. The split capture feature allows user to take photo and videos by using rear and front camera at the same time. With the face fusion feature, we easily can merge any two faces to create funny images. Live makeup feature allows user to customize the photo before clicking it. With photo booth, different looks can be given to the selfies.
