HTC One smartphone users can now install the custom ROM firmware which is developed by Android Revolution HD. This firmware comes with host of features which we have mentioned in the due course of this article. The new custom ROM firmware ropes in the goodness of Jellybean 4.1.2 and the flexibility to customize the options the way you want it. So, before we proceed to check on what is the procedure to apply the update, you will need to make sure that you have followed all the list of pre requisites mentioned below to facilitate smoother process of firmware update.

Pre Requisites:
- Create a backup of all the data present in your phone so as to make sure that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored easily. Don’t use HTC Sync to create the backup as it won’t efficiently work after applying this firmware update.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log –Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Since this is a custom ROM firmware, you need to make sure that your HTC One is rooted. To check whether your device is rooted or not, download the “Root Checker” app from the PLAY Store and check the same.

- Enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” and also you will have to ensure that the minimum battery life should be 30% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of update. Disable / uninstall all the security suites installed in your phone.
