HTC One S via T-Mobile Minor Software Update Released – OTA Update Information

T-mobile has pushed out a minor software update for the HTC One S users in the US, with a small list of improvements and fixes to the bugs that the present software version has got. Don’t get too excited, because this is no Jelly Bean update that is being pushed out, but the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android 4.0.3 is being updated to 4.0.4 with the minor changes. The version that would be changed is from the software version 2.35.531.7 710RD to 2.35.531. 10710RD.

HTC One S Update

Although there have been talks that this update can be a preparatory one for pushing out the official Jelly Bean update very soon to the One S devices, but we’ll have to wait before we see something official, and recommend users to update it as the stability to many services is improved. The update includes the following changes:

  • Fixes the delay happening during data connection
  • Fixes signal fluctuations
  • Fixes the WiFi issues of dropping or not connecting
  • Fixes WiFi error which stays connected when even out of range
  • Fixes crashes and restarts
  • Fixes the email links not opening issue
  • Fixes lag or loading screens when returning to home page
  • Music streaming errors are removed
  • Improved Wi-Fi stability
  • User interface improvements
  • Improvements to Bluetooth connectivity
  • Improvements to prevent devices from getting permanently stuck on 2G when updating.

The software update for the HTC One S would be around 30 MB in size, and you could choose to either use the data network connection or the Wi-Fi for the update, and if you haven’t received any notification of the software update, you will need to search for the update manually by going to the Settings section and Check for Update there.

Though many would be happy to see this update rolling out, they would have been expecting the Android Jelly Bean update too very soon. Update now to see the bugs fixed, especially you are one of those who use the phone frequently and keep getting annoyed with these errors.

The HTC One S is a 4.3 inch Android device with a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 dual-core processor, having a 1GB RAM and was launched with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. It has got the HTC Sense 4.1 version, and the device has an 8 megapixel rear camera, and a VGA front camera. There has been a minor update released earlier too, and this is another minor update from the manufacturer and the T-mobile carrier.
