HTC Sensation XL & XE Gets Official ICS Android 4.0 Update in India

As HTC announces several devices in the One Series and Desire series of smart phones, all of them are based on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system even though they are varied in specs and features. The good thing is that HTC has supplied those handset with pre installed Android 4.0 ICS rather than going with latter OTA update as done by Sony.

After Samsung and Sony its HTC who turns quickly to update their existing Sensation handsets with the most awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The developers from HTC has started the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade to Sensation XE and Sensation XL in India territory.HTC Sensation ICS

This update to devices will bring in new features and the amazing user interface as provided by HTC but sad to say that HTC Sense will remain as 3.6 instead the Sense 4.0 user interface is available in the One Series of smart phones. The updates are available via Over the Air and you should be connected to Wi Fi to download this from the HTC servers. To check for updates you need to follow the path Menu > Settings > About Phone > Updates > Software Updates and then tap on Update.

The file size of this OTA update is 197 MB approximately and it would take around 30 minutes to download the updates, which depends on your network speed. Once downloaded you need to apply them which would take another 5 minutes of your time. While the upgrade procedure continues, your phone would be rebooted automatically.

Once the updates are applied, you can check the Android version by going through Menu > Settings > About Phone.

If you own any of the devices, then you must get update any time or else check back latter.
