The Ascend D2 from Huawei has been announced in China already, and the worldwide preview and announcement is to be done at the CES in January 2013. The phone is going to have a 5 inch 1080p display with the screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, while there is a Huawei CPU clocking at 1.5 GHz speed, and the camera will have a 13 megapixel lens, while a 3000 mAh capacity battery would keep the usage for a few good hours before the battery drains completely. The front side has got a 1.3 megapixel camera.
The press shot of the Ascend D2 has come out, and the phone is going to have a Emotion UI in the Android Jelly Bean operating system, and that is what we have found yet in the details. The leaks have been made at the Chinese networking site Weibo, and we would get a hands-on at the CES in Las Vegas. Do check for the updates when we get to see the device at Huawei’s press announcement.

Huawei doesn’t seem to settle with the launch of the Honor 2 device with the 4.5-inch screen and the quad code processor, as they have come up with another power packed phone, again with a quad-core processor, a stunning camera and the huge battery. It’s the Huawei Ascend D2 unveiled and this phone can compete well with the 1080p display devices like the Oppo Find 5 and the HTC J Butterfly. The Ascend D2 has got a 5-inch display which could be boasting the screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, although we haven’t got a confirmed news on this.
Internally, the 1.5GHz quad-core GPU and an explosive 3000 mAh battery, pretty comparable to the 3100 mAh of the beast Samsung Galaxy Note II, but where it takes a lead is the 13-megapixel rear camera which sets all the standards high, but we can’t be sure as Huawei has never been an influential brand when it comes to the specs. Comparing the battery strengths with the other HD devices, the battery of HTC J Butterfly is a 2020 mAh one, and that of the Oppo Find 5 is a 2500 mAh one.
The Ascend D2 is going to enter the market with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and we could see it probably in the early days of 2013, and as is the case with most of the other Huawei devices, there is no confirmation whether the phone would be shipped internationally, outside Asia.
The device would have the edge-to-edge display and we expect it to have the 1080p resolution to be the perfect competition in the market of phablets. There were recent rumors about a 6.1-inch phone named Ascend Mate, which has not come into the scene yet, but if that was any true, the Ascend D2 would already have some harsh competition from its own makers. But on the other hands, having a 6-inch phone to talk would be totally weird.
