Huawei launched its latest phablet, the Ascend GX1, in China.Last week, the company had launched the larger version of its Honor 6 smartphone, the Honor 6 Plus, in China. The handset was announced during a company event in China.
Ascend GX1 features a 6-inch HD IPS display (720×1280 pixels) with minimalistic bezels giving it a screen-to-body ratio of 80.5 percent. The Huawei Ascend GX1 runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. The Ascend GX1 is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM. The 8GB internal storage on the device is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It is a the dual-SIM phablet.
On camera front, it features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Huawei has provided various connectivity options on the Ascend GX1 including 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and GPS/ A-GPS. The handset is backed by 3500mAh battery, which is rated to deliver a dual-SIM standby time of up to 198 hours. The Huawei Ascend GX1 measures 161×84.5×9.2mm and weighs 173 grams.
Last week, the company had launched the Honor 6 Plus.The handset was announced during a company event in China. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, which is layered by the company’s Emotion UI 3.0 and sporting a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display. The Honor 6 Plus comes with dual 8-megapixel rear camera sensors, which the company calls “symmetrical dual camera technology.”
The Huawei Honor 6 Plus is powered by an octa-core Kirin 925 processor with Mali T628 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The Huawei Honor 6 features 32GB of inbuilt storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). A 3600mAh battery backs the smartphone.
Huawei Ascend GX1 has been priced at CNY 1590 (approximately $ 255). The White colour variant of the Huawei Ascend GX1 is up for purchase via company’s online store, and it is not yet known if the smartphone comes in other colour options or not. It’s not clear yet whether Huawei will release it to other markets as well.
