Huawei has officially unveiled a new flagship smartphone called the P8 in London, today. The P8 will go on sale in the UK and wider Europe later this month. Huawei said that a “variant” that “borrows heavily from the P8” will launch in the US in the next month, but further details of this phone, including its name, are not yet known.
The Huawei P8 has 5.2 Inch full HD (1,920×1,080-pixel) display resulting in a pixel density of 424 pixels per inch. It’s powered by a 64-bit Kirin 930 octa-core processor. The P8 arrives with the latest Android Lollipop software on board, over which Huawei has applied its usual Emotion UI interface. Emotion UI changes everything from the colour scheme and fonts to the app icons.
The phone has two cameras: a 13-megapixel one on the back and a generous 8-megapixel front camera for selfies . Huawei boasts that the rear camera makes use of various sensors to analyse the light in order to take brighter shots in low-light conditions, with minimal image noise.
The phone will come in three colours: black, silver and gold.

Huawei Ascend P8 recently got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). The smartphone is the successor to the Huawei Ascend P7. The smartphone is expected to be available in six versions, three of which will be Chinese carrier models and support dual 4G LTE connectivity.Huawei has recently announced an event on April 15 in London, where it is expected to unveil its flagship Ascend P8 smartphone.
According to TENAA’s listing, the Huawei P8 will feature a 5.2-inch HD display with 1080 pixels resolution. It will be powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 930 chipset, which is the first to be made using 16nm process technology. It will come with 3GB of RAM. On the camera front, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 2600mAH battery.
In the images, you can see that the volume rocker, power button, microSD slot and SIM card slot are all located on the right side of the device. At the back of the device, you can see a camera sensor a dual-LED, dual tone flash next to the camera and Huawei branding below that. This device is expected to be made out of metal.
