Huawei Launched G8 as Maimang 4 in China with All New Snapdragon 616

Last Huawei announced ‘Huawei G8’, which will be the successor for last year’s Huawei G7. Today we have a new variant of Huawei G8 called as ‘Huawei Maimang 4’ which was launched exclusivity for China. The one difference between the two devices is their processors, the new Maimang 4 runs on all new Snapdragon 616 while the Huawei G8 was announced with Snapdragon 615.

The Snapdragon 615 comes with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and other four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.0GHz, but the Snapdragon 616 has four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz while the other four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.2GHz. The Snapdragon 616 features Cat-4 LTE to bring much better connectivity options along with the X5 LTE world mode modem. It has the same Adreno 405 GPU found on Snapdragon 615.

Other specifications remain same as on the Huawei G8. It comes with 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display and has two variants to choose from, one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage while other variant features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is 13MP rear camera with OIS and LED flash, a 5MP front camera, and battery of 3,000mAh capacity.

It also includes a fingerprint scanner below the rear camera for additional security. The device comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The Huawei Maimang 4 will be priced at 2,099 Yuan for 2GB variant while the 3GB variant costs you around 2,499 Yuan.

This year Huawei launched a lot many of smartphones, According to a report, Huawei crossed the Microsoft to become the world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer. As per the report, Huawei has a total of 7% share of the global smartphone market that lags behind only to the Apple and Samsung, which has 10% and 20% respectively.
