China had earlier banned the gaming consoles from out of the country, but as soon as the ban was lifted, Huawei has announced a very sleek handheld console for its home country, the Huawei Tron which runs Android 4.2.3 and is able to output a 1080p Full HD video feed to a display via the HDMI connectivity. Made of plastic and looking pretty neat, the Tron is powered by the Tegra 4 processor, and along with that, there is 2GB of RAM and the two internal storage options – 16GB and 32GB.

There were quite a few gaming consoles like this which came into existence in a good way, but later the response didn’t remain the same. One of them was OUYA, and the other is Mad Catz M.O.J.O. which is still to show it’s charm, but the consoles do not receive the same buyer response as the smartphones and other handheld gadgets do, basically because of the limitations and lack of proper optimized games. Huawei is trying to change things and make this console available very soon, and at an affordable pricing, i.e. below $120.
Connectivity wise, there is a USB 3.0 port, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac enough as the different ways to connect and stream, and for the pricing at which Huawei is planning to sell this for, all this looks great, especially when the consoles right now in the market are almost double the price.
The gaming console is a cylindrical body, which isn’t much in size and can do quite a lot of it for the size given, and the controller is just like most of the others but there is a touchpad circle in the center. The interface isn’t really impressive, but this being just a start, we are sure Huawei has quite some plans for this once the Console starts getting some recognition. The Tegra 4 would do some good assistance in the performance, but we’ll have to see what kind of games it can handle.
As of now, we know that this is coming to the Chinese market, and there is nothing about it for the other markets.
