One of the well known projector devices with the Android OS earlier was the Samsung Galaxy Beam which came with some good appreciation because there was no much competition back then, but since then there have been different brands coming up with such smartphones powered with a projector.
iBall’s recent attempt still looks the best when you talk of a projector for a mobile phone, with the iBall Andi4a projector phone coming with the World’s first 35 lumens projector on the top of the device, and the other specs being all decent to make it look a very neat device for the price of Rs. 17,999 in the Indian market.
The Andi4a from iBall comes with a 4-inch IPS WVGA capacitive touchscreen with the pixel density of 233 PPI, and the projector to be specific, is a 35Lm one with the Contrast of 1200:1, and the size of projection is 32 inches per meter distance. The actual resolution provided by the projector is 640 x 480 pixels.
Internally, the iBall Andi4a is powered by 1 GHz Dual-core processor, i.e. the Cortex A9 processor which is bundled with 512 MB RAM and there’s 4GB of internal storage, of which 2GB is already used by the operating system and the application files. The device has got the external storage expansion possible to 32GB with the MicroSD card.
There is a Dual SIM Dual Standby with the GSM + WCDMA support, and the battery included in the phone is 1500 mAh which could be a factor the company should have taken seriously, because the projection should drain quite some battery levels on continuous usage. The Andi4a comes with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
There’s a 8-megapixel camera with the LED flash on the back, which does a decent capturing and nothing better even when the flash is used, and the front facing camera is a VGA quality one with the prime purpose of video calling.
