iBall has introduced a tablet that targets the IIT Aspirants in India, and this tablet device iBall Edu-Slide features a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen and loads of educational content, which is the main reason why the tablet is launched. The Edu-Slide comes with the IPS HD display with the screen resolution of 1280×1024 pixels, and it runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, coming in two variants – Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+3G.
The Edu-Slide is internally powered by the different processors in the different variants based on the connectivity options.
The 3G version is powered by the Quad-core processor whose technical specs are not specified by the company, and the tablet is a Dual-SIM one supporting two GSM SIM cards.
The Wi-Fi version of the iBall Edu Slide is powered by the 1.5GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor along with 1GB of RAM. There’s an inbuilt memory of 8GB and this can be expanded to 32GB with the MicroSD card option.
The rear side has got a 8-megapixel camera and there’s a VGA camera on the front side above the display. One of the good things about the tablet device is the 8000 mAh battery included in it which is sure to provide many hours of continuous usage. The connectivity options included in the device are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI port and 3G via USB dongle if you are using the Wi-Fi version.
There is a lot of IIT JEE Main and the IIT JEE Advanced content included in the tablet device, but that’s not it. The tablet would also have the foundation content for the 11th and 12th standards, with the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subject content. According to the company, there would be more than 200 hours of audiovisual content as well as question banks included.
Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director of iBall said, “We hope iBall Edu-Slide will provide students an excellent additional learning tool to all – those who are attending any classes or preparing without attending any classes.”
The iBall Edu-Slide Wi-Fi version comes for the price of Rs. 30,999 while the 3G version is available for the price of Rs. 35,999. With such a pricing it’s hard to say if students would be much interested in this.
