How to Install Clock Work Mod Recovery in SONY Xperia S Android phone

Tutorial to Install Clock Work Mod Recovery in your Xperia S:

  • Assuming that you have installed the ADB in your computer, you now need to rename the S-DooMKernel-v01_kernel.elf to kernel.elf and then copy the kernel.elf file to the folder where ADB and Fastboot files are located which is generally in the path of platform-tools or in tools folder.
  • Now, connect your Xperia S to the computer and then copy the S-DooMKernel-v01-Modules.zip to the phone’s internal SD Card of your Xperia S.
  • Disconnect the device from the computer and turn off the same so that it can be then entered in the fastboot mode. For entering your phone in the fastboot mode, press the Volume Up button and then pressing this connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable.
  • Open the command prompt in your computer by pressing the “Win + R”, enter “cmd” to press enter. Now, in the command prompt enter the below mentioned command,

fastboot flash boot kernel.elf

  • If the above command doesn’t work then you need to enter the below mentioned command,

fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot kernel.elf

  • Now, this will reboot he phone and when the light turns blue, press the Voluem Up button which will enter the Xperia S in the recovery mode. Now, in the recovery mode, with the help of Volume rocker keys, navigate to the option “install zip from sd card” to select the “S-DooMKernel-v01-Modules.zip” which you have placed in the phone.

  • Confirm this selection of zip file with the help of Volume rocker keys and press the power button to confirm the same.
  • Now, once the file is selected, it will take around 5 minutes for applying this rooting process. Once the rooting is finished, select “Go Back” and select the option of “reboot system now” so as to reboot the phone.

Tip: Due to some reasons if the rooting process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the whole process again. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps like APN etc.
