The Indian smartphone maker Intex has unveiled a new smartphone dubbed as Aqua GenX at an event held in New Delhi. Intex Aqua GenX is likely to hit the markets in the coming week and will be available in retail shops across the country by October 15. Though the company did not reveal any pricing details it is expected to be priced around Rs. 14,000.
Coming to its specifications, Aqua GenX flaunts a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080pixels) display and will come powered by 64-bit MediaTek octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion upto 128GB.
On the camera front, The handset sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter for video calling and selfie clicks. Connectivity options on the dual-sim capable device include 4G-LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB port with OTG support on the go.
The smartphone comes backed by a 2850mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The Aqua GenX sports a full metal body and will also come with a one-year screen breakage warranty.
On the other side, Intex has also tied up with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm to supply 4G handsets enabled with voice over LTE (VoLTE) feature. There are speculations that Aqua GenX will be the first offering from the company for Jio Infocomm.
Reliance Jio has signed a supply order for a total of 1 Lakh smartphones, out of which 20,000 units will be delivered shortly. All these handsets will carry the branding of both the companies.
A quick recall, The company recently launched a new smartphone called as Intex Aqua Ace. The Aqua Ace comes with a 5-inch FHD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both front and back side. The device comes powered MediaTek MT-6735 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The 4G capable device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes backed by a 2300mAh battery. It comes with one-year screen breakage warranty and is also priced aggressively at Rs. 12,999.
