The domestic smartphone manufacturer, Intex has recently launched yet another budget 4G-LTE smartphone in its Aqua series called as Intex Aqua Star 4G. The main USP of the device is it comes with iData Saver feature that is powered by Opera Max and developed by Opera. The new function helps to save data consumption upto 50% on images, web-pages, and various streaming apps. The company also claims that it is the first Indian brand to include Opera Max functionality to its smartphone.
“With the massive demand and high usage of smartphones, data consumption has become the most critical aspect for the consumer. Considering this changing behavior, Intex has partnered with Opera Max to give its tech-savvy users a built-in data-saving feature to control data consumption and get the maximum out of their data plans,” said, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies at the launch event.
Regarding specifications, the Aqua Star 4G flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD display with a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood, is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The device comes with 8GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for memory expansion upto 32GB.
Regarding camera, the device sports an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing shooter for video calling and selfie clicks. The device supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB port. The handset juices a 2000mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The dimensions of the device measure 143 x 72.6 x 9 mm and weighs around 150 grams. The smartphone comes in Black, Grey and White color variants and is priced at Rs. 6,499.
To recap, Intex has recently launched a premium mid-range smartphone called as Intex Aqua GenX priced at Rs. 13,299. The Aqua GenX sports 5.5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, 13MP rear camera with PDAF, 5MP front camera, 4G-LTE connectivity and 2850mAh battery. The device comes with many exciting new features and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
