Intex Aqua Trend with 2GB RAM, 13MP Rear Camera, 3000mAh Battery Launched for Rs. 9,444

Intex in an event held in Hyderabad, India launched a new smartphone ‘Aqua Trend‘ priced at Rs. 9,444 (approx $150). With a market share, 10.5% Intex is the second largest smartphone maker from India origin, only next to Micromax. The ‘Aqua Trend’ comes with 4G LTE support and includes a larger 3,000mAh Li-Polymer battery. The company also includes 1-year of screen breakage warranty for free with the device.

It sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. There is 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a MicroSD card slot (upto 32GB supported). It also supports Dual SIM’s and runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop with a lot of bloatware apps.

Coming to the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device measures 144.5 x 72.5 x 8.9 mm and weighs 152 grams. The Lenovo K3 Note and YU Yureka Plus are devices with FULL HD displays and much better specs than the Aqua Trend that priced under Rs. 10,000. Yu also teased to strip down the price of Yureka Plus from Rs. 9,999 to Rs. 8,999 which make it a much better alternative to Aqua Trend.

Recently the company joined hands with the Jolla, the maker of Sailfish OS to launch entry-level 4G LTE enabled devices running on Sailfish OS 2.0. As per the company, the first Sailfish OS 2.0 running device will be launched in November and will be priced below Rs.10,000. The device was first showcased at recently held MWC 2015 in Shanghai along with the first WatchPhone from the company.
