While the several other brands are concentrating on the launches of the high-end smartphones, foe example the Gionee Elife E7, Micromax Canvas HD A116i and some mid-range ones too, Karbonn is silently trying to push out devices with the low prices and the entry-level specifications, and the latest one from them in this range is the Karbonn A1+ Duple, a low-budget Android smartphone which is listed online for sale for the price of Rs. 3,690.
The phone is already listed on the several online retailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal etc. and it would soon be available at the offline stores too, and the A1+ Duple features a 3.5-inch HVGA display and internally there is a very neat processor, a dual-core one clocking at 1.3 GHz. The RAM included in the smartphone is a 256MB one and the internal storage is quite low, with 512MB which is not fully available to the user, as some of the space is taken by the system files.
The rear side has a 3-megapixel camera with the flash support while there is a VGA front camera too provided in the A1+ Duple. This is a Dual-SIM smartphone with the 2G network support and there is no 3G support provided. It runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and the connectivity options apart from the data network that we get to see – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB.
Although the low internal storage, Karbonn has provided a MicroSD card slot but haven’t mentioned about the capacity of external storage allowed with it. One of the comparative devices with the Karbonn A1+ Duple is the Intex Cloud X5, which has some similar specs but the price is a little high, and it comes from a brand which has recently been very active in the Android smartphone segment.
