Apart from the launch of the Lava Iris 505, the company had come up with the Lava Iris 506Q Android smartphone with somewhat better specs, and thus a higher pricing as the 506Q is available for the price of Rs. 11700 on the online store Snapdeal, and it too has got a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen but with a slight better display, having a 960 x 540 pixels resolution.
This one too like the Iris 505, is a Dual SIM device with the Dual Standby and supports the 3G connectivity, along with the other standard options for connectivity which include the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. The internal powering provided in the Iris 506Q is a Quad-core processor clocking at 1.2 GHz speed, but one would have expected more than the 512MB of RAM included in it.
Camera is the same in both the devices, with the 5-megapixel rear camera along an LED flash, able to shoot videos at 720p HD quality, and along with it, a front 0.3-megapixel camera for the video chatting. The OS version with which the device would come, is the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and there are some gesture controls provided in this, similar to the ones in the Lava Iris 504Q and 505.
The internal storage is 4GB but the user available storage is 1.9GB, while the storage can be expanded to 32GB using the MicroSD card. The battery included in the device is of capacity 2000 mAh. The device is available for sale online on Snapdeal for Rs. 11700 and later would be available in the various retail stores too.
