Lava has announced a new mid-range smartphone that goes by a name Iris Pro 30+ is a successor to the Iris Pro 30, which was launched in January this year. Continuing the Iris Pro series of smartphone, Lava promises to provide better hardware specifications to its consumers. The device is priced for INR 11,990 and will be available exclusively to purchase on Amazon India’s website.
The Lava Iris Pro 30+ comes with a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels resolution) IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad-core Mediatek (6589 turbo) Processor. The device will be running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, with no guaranteed update for Android 4.4 Kitkat. On the storage front, the device packs a 1GB of RAM and a 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
In the camera department, the device sports a 13MP Autofocus rear-camera with LED flash, which can shoot up to 1080p (Full HD) video recording. At front, it has a 3MP camera that supports video calling features on the device, giving you option to take selfies too. For connectivity, it offers various set of features like 3G, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, and OTG. It weighs only 116 grams and has thickness of 7.9 mm. All this is powered by a 2000 mAh battery, which can give you a rated talktime of 9 hours.
On the comparison note, the device would have been a great competitor if it was running on latest Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. But looking at the hardware specifications it does give a competition to Moto G and Asus Zenfone 5. The only upgrade Iris Pro 30+ got is that it comes with a 16GB of internal memory and a 13MP Autofocus rear-camera, instead of a 4GB of internal storage and an 8MP rear-camera on the Iris Pro 30.
The Lava Iris Pro 30+ will be available in only one color, Black, at all the leading retail stores and multi-brand outlets nationwide. It will be available online exclusively on Amazon.in from August 26th, 2014 1PM onwards for the price tag of INR 11,990. The device also comes bundled with a 16GB microSD card within the retail price.
