Lava V5 with 3GB RAM & 8MP Selfie Shooter Launched at Rs. 11,499

The domestic handset maker, Lava has been launching impressive smartphones in the affordable segment in the recent times. Today the company has launched yet another exciting camera-centric smartphone in the mid-range category called as Lava V5. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 11,499 comes in White color variant and will be available for purchase via all the leading online and offline platforms across India.


Coming to the specifications part, the Lava V5 comes with 5.5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS full lamination display offering a pixel density of 267ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top of it for protection. The smartphone comes powered by MediaTek MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM for lag free performance. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with planned upgrade to latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow in coming months.

On the camera cordon, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with Samsung 3M2 ISOCELL sensor, PDAF for faster focus, f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash to capture perfect images in any lighting condition. On the front, it has an 8MP shooter with 84-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash for crazy selfie lovers. It supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port.

The smartphone comes with 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 32GB. The handset powers a 3000mAh battery that has the energy to last for an entire day on a single charge. The Lava V5 will have to face tough competition from the likes of Lenovo K4 Note and Gionee Marathon M5 Lite that are available in the similar price tag.

A quick recall, Lava has recently launched an entry-level smartphone called as Lava P7 in India priced at Rs. 5,499. The smartphone features 5-inch FWVGA display, MediaTek quad-core SoC, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 5MP primary camera, 2MP selfie shooter and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The smartphone comes with Google India keyboard that offers 12 regional languages and also supports custom gestures and smart wake-up features for easy access.
