As teased earlier, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Lenovo has officially launched two new smartphones in the budget and mid-range category called as Lenovo Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona. As reported earlier, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is the international variant of the Lenovo Lemon 3 that launched in China last month. Both the smartphones sport similar design and has similar specifications with minor differences.
Talking about the specifications, the Lenovo Vibe K5 features a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display with 294ppi as pixel density while the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus flaunts a 5 -inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD IPS display offering a pixel density of 441ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top for protection. The Vibe K5 comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 415 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with Adreno 405 GPU. On the other hand, the Vibe K5 Plus packs Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz clubbed with Adreno 405 GPU.
Both the smartphones come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 32GB. On the camera front, the devices sport a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter for video calling and crazy selfie lovers. The dual sim dual standby supporting smartphones run on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Lenovo Vibe UI out of the box. The handsets also sport dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology for enhanced sound experience.
Connectivity options on the smartphones include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port. The handsets powers a 2750mAh battery that the company claims has the energy to last for an entire day of mixed usage. The dimensions of the smartphones measure 142 x 71 x 8.2 mm weighs around 142 grams and comes in Silver, Champagne Gold, and Graphite Grey color options. The Lenovo Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus are priced at $129 and $149 respectively and will be available in the major markets starting March 2016.
