Update Sep 29: Last week, LG Class was officially launched in South Korea. According to the company the Class is Korea only device and will not be available outside the state. But, the latest rumors and a tweet by @evleaks suggest that the phone could be released outside the home country and if this information is accurate, the handset will be launched via AT&T.
Earlier Sep 21: Today, LG has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone in Korea named LG Class. The Class is priced at SKW 399,300 ($340). The LG Class is a Korea only smartphone and will go on sale in the country starting today, i.e., Sep 21 via many Korean carriers. The company did not reveal any plans for launching the smartphone in other markets as of now.
Let’s see what this smartphone has to offer:
The LG Class flaunts a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass offering a 3D effect. The device comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. The device runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and has 16GB onboard storage with microSD card support for expansion upto 2TB.
It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 8MP front-facing shooter for selfie lovers which the company touts, comes with the image sensor from the LG G4 flagship. The connectivity options on this device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and microUSB port.
It is worth mentioning that the LG Class is made out of metal and has 2.5D curved glass on top of its display, that LG says helps to improve grip. Like other LG devices, the Class also has physical buttons placed on the back of the handset. The smartphone also features a 1W output speaker placed next to the camera sensor that the company claims to be quite powerful and also said to offer clear sound.
The dimensions of the device measure 142 x 71.8 x 7.4 mm and weighs 147 grams. It comes packed with a 2050mAh battery and will be available in colors- Gold, Silver, and Blue Black.
