How to make your LG G2 android device look like LG G3 – Guide

Quick Pre Requisites:

  • Create a backup of all the data like SMS, Call Log, Pictures, Videos & Songs (by transferring the data to the PC),
  • Battery should be more than 50%,
  • Enable USB Debugging mode in your LG G2

Procedure to Update LG G2 to make it look like LG G3:

  • Root LG G2 needs to be rooted. Download “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store to check on whether the device is rooted or not. Also, you need to make sure that your LG G2 comes with the custom recovery image installed.
  • Connect your LG G2 Android phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the two zip files in your device’s root folder. Make sure that you are not placing the files deep into any sub folders.
  • Turn off your device so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode. Press the Volume Down + Power button and once you see the LG logo, you need to leave the pressed buttons to press again for entering the device in the recovery mode.
  • In recovery mode, select options to clear the data and wipe the cache by selecting the appropriate options. Once done, you need to select the option of “install zip” to choose the firmware zip package and baseband zip package which you have earlier placed in your device.
  • Once the zip files are selected, it will take around 4- 5 minutes for applying the update. Once done, head over to the Software Information section from your Settings to see on whether the update has been successful or not.
  • If your LG G2 gets stuck while applying this LG G3 update, long press the Power button to turn off the device and follow the above mentioned instructions from the start.
