Update Oct 13, 2015: As said earlier, Today, Google has officially launched the Nexus 5X smartphone in India. The Nexus 5X comes in two storage variants 16GB and 32GB and is priced at Rs.31,990 and Rs.35,990 respectively. The device will be available both offline and online exclusively via Amazon. The pre-orders for the smartphone will start from today, i.e., October 13 and will go on sale from October 21.
Earlier Sep 30, 2015: Two years after unveiling the highly successful LG Nexus 5, Google has partnered with the same company to launch the successor of Nexus 5 called as Nexus 5X. The Nexus 5X is a serious upgrade over its predecessor and it also runs on the latest version of the Google’s operating system, i.e., Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Let’s talk about the Nexus 5X in detail:
The Nexus 5X flaunts 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels IPS display with 424ppi as pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top of it. It comes powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz coupled with Adreno 418 GPU and 2GB RAM. The device comes in two storage variants one with 16GB and the other with 32GB, and there is no microSD card slot for expansion.
Talking about its camera, It sports a 13MP laser autofocus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter with a f/2.2 aperture for perfect selfie clicks. The connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port.
Like Nexus 6P, the Nexus 5X also features the new fingerprint sensor, “Nexus Imprint,” that gives users a quick and secure access to the smartphone, a USB Type-C port for fast charging and data transfer and dual front-facing speakers.
The device comes packed with a 2700mAh battery that can last for one complete day on mixed usage. As earlier said the new Nexus 5X runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow – Google’s latest Android operating system – that allows the fingerprint sensors for unlocking and other features including Android Pay. The dimensions of the handset measure 147 x 72.6 x 7.9 mm, weighs 136 grams and will be available in colors- Carbon Black, Sports White, and Ice Blue.
