With the Mobile World Congress just a couple of weeks away, lots of new smartphones are expected from multiple manufacturers. Being one among them, LG had sent out a teaser indicating a new bunch of smartphones to be unveiled at MWC and little was known about it except the fact that LG was coming out with a few interesting devices.
However, the tables seem to have turned and now the specifications and features of the devices along with their model numbers have been leaked.
LG Optimus L3 II
This would be an entry-level device from LG and comes with a 3.2 inch screen and a 1Ghz Processor. Its predecessor, the LG Optimus L3 however had only an 800 Mhz processor and it does look like LG has pepped up the processing unit on this one. Also, the L3 II comes with a 5MP camera compared to the 3.2MP one on the older version of it. Pretty much that, and the L3 II does look very similar to the Optimus L3 and as an addition, there’s an IPS panel attached to the display too. A good set of features to add onto a basic entry-level smartphone, isn’t it?
LG Optimus L5 II
The L series from LG also has its own mid-end variant named the L5. What LG looks like it is coming up with is the LG Optimus L5 II. Powered by a 1GHz Cortex-A9 CPU, it is a great upgrade over the 800Mhz processor the original L5 from LG had back then. Added to it, LG has slapped a Graphics unit too, powered by the PowerVR SGX531 GPU and comes with Android 4.1.2. The L5 II is said to be an 4-inch device with a WVGA touchscreen, and there’s no information about the IPS capabilities of this display though.
LG Optimus L7 II
The L7 II is the successor of the quite famous LG Optimus L7. It comes with a 4.3-inch IPS display (800 x 480 resolution) and packs a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8225 processor under its hood. The phone also sports a neat 8MP rear camera and it is supposed that it’d shoot HD Video too. The L7 II comes with 768MB of RAM and a Adreno 203 GPU unit on it too. With a fresh version of Android, 4.1.2 over it, it’s powered by a 2460mAh battery under the hood.
The L series from LG is known for their simple and cost-effective functionality in multiple regions of the world. The successor of the L3, L5 and the L7 do seem competitive if priced right. More information is awaited during MWC 2013, keep watching this space for more information.
