After launching the metal-clad LG Zero smartphone in Europe earlier this month, the South Korean giant has now launched a smartphone in Russia called as LG Ray. The LG Ray is a mid-ranged smartphone and is available in offline stores priced at 14,990 rubles (roughly $226/Rs. 15,100).
Talking about the specifications, the Ray flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with pixel density of 267ppi and comes powered MediaTek MT6592M octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with Mali 400 GPU. The device comes with 1GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage and microSD card slot for expansion upto 32GB. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
On the photographic section, the smartphone sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front shooter for video calling and selfie lovers. The device supports 4G-LTE connectivity and also features other essential connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port. A 3000mAh battery powers the handset that can last upto 10 hours of talk time and upto 500 hours of standby time.
The LG Ray comes with a design that resembles earlier launched LG smartphones. It comes with power and volume rockers placed on the rear side below the camera sensors and also offers a unique knock code feature to secure your smartphone. The dimensions of the handset measure 152.5 x 76.4 x 9.3 mm weighs around 156 grams and is available in Black and Gold color variants.
To recap, LG in partnership with Reliance Retail has recently announced two new enabled 4G handsets called as LG Spirit LTE and LG G4 Stylus 4G in India. Both the smartphones support VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) allowing faster transmission of data and voice. The smartphones are expected to launch soon and will be available across the country exclusively at various multi-brand outlets.
