Today, LG has officially announced a new mid-range smartphone called as LG Stylus 2 in India. The device is listed on the LG India’s official website and comes with mid-range specifications. The device was first announced at the MWC 2016 event and recently released in its home country Korea. The Stylus 2 is the successor of LG G4 Stylus that launched in India last year, and comes with an improved stylus. The LG Stylus 2 is listed at Rs. 19,500 on the company’s official website and is expected to go on sale in the country soon.
Coming to its specifications part, the LG Stylus 2 flaunts a large 5.7-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS in-cell display that offers a pixel density of 258ppi. Under the hood, it fuels Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz clubbed with Adreno 304 GPU. The device has 2GB of RAM when compared to the Korean version that has 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow based LG 5.0 UI overlaid.
The main selling point of the LG Stylus 2 is the optimized stylus with a nano-coated tip ensures more accuracy when compared to a previous rubber-tipped pen. It also comes with many new features developed by LG like, the Pen Pop that toggles the pop-up menu when the stylus is removed to access shortcuts to Pop Memo and Pop Scanner. The Pen Keeper feature that displays a pop-up message when the stylus is being misplaced. The new Calligraphy Pen font allows one to write as beautifully and decoratively as if using a fountain pen.
On the photographic section, the smartphone sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for video chats and stunning selfie captures. Both the cameras on the device can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30fps. The device supports 4G-LTE with VoLTE and other basic connectivity options like NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0 port. It has 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 2TB.
The smartphone comes with traditional LG design and feels rich in hand with a slim metallic frame around its sides. The handset powers a 3000mAh battery that the company claims can easily last for an entire day on a single charge. The dimensions of the device measure 155 x 79.6 x 7.4 mm weighs around 145 grams and comes in Titan, White, and Brown color options. LG Stylus 2 at this price tag comes with not so powerful specifications, and there are many other alternatives available on the market with even better features.
