The South Korean giant, LG has been in the rumor rounds for a while now about the launch of the flagship LG G5 that is scheduled to unveil at the MWC 2016 event on Feb 22nd. Today, the brand has announced two new smartphones in the all new X series called as LG X Cam and LG X Screen ahead of the MWC 2016 event in the Barcelona next week. The all-new X Series will feature more innovative devices and will be placed in the mid-ranged category. The smartphones will roll out in the major markets like Asia, Europe, and Latin America starting March 2016, but the prices of the devices are yet to be revealed by the company.
Let’s talk about the smartphones in detail:
LG X Cam
The LG X Cam flaunts a 5.2-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD IPS In-Cell display offering a pixel density of 424ppi and latest Gorilla Glass protection laid on top. The smartphone comes powered by unspecified 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 2TB. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
As the name indicates, the X Cam is a camera-centric device and sports dual 13MP and 5MP rear cameras with LED flash to capture stunning images. On the front, it has an 8MP snapper for video chats and crazy selfie lovers. Connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and microUSB port. The handset comes backed by a 2520mAh battery that can easily last for an entire day of mixed usage. Its dimensions measure 147.5 x 73.6 x 6.9 mm and will come in Titan Silver, White, Gold and Pink Gold colors.
LG X Screen
The LG X Screen features a 4.93-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with In-Cell technology and Gorilla Glass protection. The main USP of the smartphone is it also features a 1.76-inch (520×80 pixels) secondary Always-on display that allows the users to answer calls, play music, access frequently used apps, check the date, time without unlocking the phone. The last years flagship LG V10 was the first smartphone from the company to feature an Always-on display. Under the hood, it packs 64-bit quad-core SoC clocked at 1.2GHz and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The smartphone features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front shooter for video chats and perfect selfie images. It supports dual sim dual standby and includes connectivity options like 4G-LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB port. The device has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card slot upto 2TB. The handset backs a 2300mAh battery which we feel is slightly under powered considering the specifications. The dimensions of the smartphone measure 142.6 x 71.8 x 7.1 mm and will come in Black, White and Pink Gold color options.
