Procedure to Update Galaxy S PLUS I9001 with Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware:
- Download the Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware Package and Google Apps from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then all you need to do is to place these two zip files in your device.
- Recovery Mode in Galaxy S PLUS I9001 can be entered by pressing the Volume Up rocker key + Menu Button and holding these both, press the power button at the same time. Alternatively, you can enter the device in the recovery mode with the help of ROM Manager app from the Google PLAY Store and select the option of “install clockwork mod recovery” > reboot into recovery for entering the device in the recovery mode.
- Once the device is entered in the recovery mode, select the option of “install zip from sd card” to choose the Firmware zip file which you have placed in your phone followed by the Google Apps Package.
- Once both the files are updated successfully, you will then need to wait for the message “install from zip card complete” to select the option of “go back” and select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
- It will take more time than expected for rebooting the device in the normal mode. So, make sure that you are not pressing the power button which will interrupt the process. If the device refuses to power ON even after 5 minutes, you can re insert the battery and re follow the procedure to update the same.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
You can check the firmware update from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where the firmware update version will be mentioned. So there you go, you have now successfully updated your phone with the latest Jellybean 4.2.2 version in your Samsung Galaxy S PLUS I9001.
