Procedure to Update HTC One PLUS with Jellybean 4.2.1 Firmware:
- Download Jellybean 4.2.1 Firmware Package and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original Sub cable and place the zip files in your device.
- The Boot loader mode in HTC One X+ can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the boot loader mode.
- Now, in the boot loader mode, you need to select “recovery” so as to enter into the recovery mode. In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition for clearing all the cache data.
- Select install zip from sd card, then select choose zip from sd card. Scroll down to select “Jellybean 4.2.1 Firmware Package” and “Google Apps Package” which you have placed in your device. Once the firmware is updated successfully, you will now need to select the option of “go back” to select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
- Please note that it will take more than expected time for rebooting the device. Just in case if it takes more than 5 minutes then you need to long press on the Power button to reset and re follow the instructions.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just long press the Power button and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
You can check the firmware version from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where the firmware version can be checked.
