Procedure to Update LG Nexus 4 with Jellybean 4.2.1 Firmware:
- Download the Jellybean 4.2.1 JOP40D Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your LG Nexus 4 to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the zip file in your device’s internal memory.
- Now, disconnect the device and download the ROM Manager app from the Google PLAY Store. Open the ROM Manager app and select the option of “reboot into recovery mode” for rebooting the device in the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
- Now, select “install zip from SD Card” to find for all the zip files present in your LG Nexus 4 device, select the Jellybean 4.2.1 JOP40D Package which you have placed in the device for updating the same. Once the file is selected, it will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the update. As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, you will get to see the message as “install from sd card completed” and then select “go back” and select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Please note that it may take longer time than expected for booting the device and to show up the home screen as it’s the first time the device will reboot after applying the firmware.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then long press the power button to boot the device again in the normal mode.
