Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy S2 with Official Jellybean 4.1.2 UVMC6 Firmware:
- Download Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware for S2 and Odin in your computer. Extract both the files in your computer and open Odin in your computer. Once extracted, open Odin in your computer.
- Turn OFF your Samsung Galaxy S2 so that it can be entered in the Download Mode. Download Mode in Galaxy S2 can be entered by pressing the Volume Down rocker key + Menu Button and holding these both, press the power button at the same time.
- Once the device is entered in the Download Mode, connect your device to the computer with the help of original Sub cable keeping Odin opened. If by any chance KIES is running in background, close the same. Also, make sure that you are having Open USB Ports with Full Read / Write Access.
- Once the ID : COM section turns Yellow, connect your device to the computer with the help of Original USB cable and click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you will get upon extraction of firmware. Click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update.
- It will take around 3 -4 minutes for applying the update. Once the firmware is applied successfully, the phone will reboot automatically. It may sometimes take more than expected time for rebooting the device as it’s the first time the device will be booting after firmware upgrade.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
You can check the firmware update from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where the firmware update version will be mentioned. So there you go, you have now successfully updated your Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 on T-Mobile with the Official UVMC6 Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware.
