Procedure to Update Galaxy S4 GT I9505 with Official XXUDMH8 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware:
- Download the Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, open Odin in your computer. In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options by selecting the check boxes. But the Re-Partition check box must not be selected or checked.
- The Galaxy S4 GT I9505 smartphone can be entered into the Download mode by holding the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device. If the device enters in the normal mode, then you will have to re try the process of entering the device in the Download Mode.
- Once the device gets into the Download Mode, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID: COM section will turn Yellow or Blue indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.
- Click on “PDA” tab in the Odin to select the tar file which you got after extracting the firmware package to click on “Start” in Odin. Once you have clicked on the same, you need to wait for around 3 -4 minutes for the update process to get completed.
- Once the firmware is applied successfully, the device will be rebooted. Once rebooted and once you see the home screen, you will then have to disconnect the device from the computer.
- To check on whether the firmware is updated or not, you need to check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone” where the firmware will be mentioned as jellybean 4.2.2. We will very soon come out with a tutorial which will help you root Galaxy S4 on XXUDMH8 Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
