Meizu MX4G – 5.5-inch Android Smartphone Rumored to Have 2560×1536 Pixels Resolution

Meizu has been lately working some of the best Android smartphones with the high-end specs, and each of their smartphones receive an amazing response from the buyers in China. This time, the company is making one of the best in their lineups, as the Meizu MX4G is supposedly being made with a 5.5 inch having a screen resolution of 2560 x 1536 pixels. Earlier to this, the best from them was the Meizu MX3 which had an octa-core chipset and some best specs in the market. Now, just in a couple of months after the MX3 was launched, Meizu is in the news already for the next best.

Jack Wong, Meizu CEO, didn’t many any other announcements except for the screen size and the display it would have. The screen size to be just a little less than the Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung, the 5.5-inch one will have the amazingly high resolution of 2560×1536 pixels, which would make the pixel density of over 540 PPI. That’s brilliant, but is there a need for such a high-res display when you really won’t be able to make out whether it’s bringing out the best graphics when compared to the 1080p display right now?

Such beautiful displays come with a few drawbacks too, and the top in that list would be the battery consumption. And again, there is no need for now except the OEMs are thinking to be the first in the market for certain things that make them market the products. The 1536p is no where close to the 4k resolution but having such huge numbers could end up as just the numbers and no practical effect in the world. Let’s see what else is coming packed in when Meizu makes this smartphone official, and that won’t be very long from now as CES is nearing and around that time is when they would be looking to make an impact against the big names around the world.
