Yu5050 and Yu4711 Information Leaked ahead of Tuesday Launch

Micromax’s Yu Televentures has scheduled an event for the launch of a new smartphone on September 8, and two new Yu devices have been leaked ahead of it. The two new devices dubbed as Yu5050 and Yu4711 have been spotted on Geekbench listings and India’s Zauba import-export site and the listing of the smartphones leak few details about Yu5050 and Yu4711.

As per the sources, Yu5050 will be a high-end smartphone, unlike previous Yu devices and will come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz alongside Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB RAM. The smartphone will cost around $315 (Rs.21,000 approx), and once unveiled on September 8 it will be the cheapest handset with Snapdragon 810 SoC. As per now OnePlus 2 and Doogee F3 are considered as the world’s most affordable smartphones with Snapdragon 810 chipset to be ever announced, but Micromax Yu5050 will soon occupy their place once it is released officially.

As per the leaks, Yu5050 will also feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display offering a pixel density of 424ppi and has 35GB built-in storage with microSD card support for expansion upto 64GB. It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter. Yu5050 has a dual sim dual standby support with 4G-LTE connectivity and other basic connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB port. It comes packed with a 2500mAh battery with fast charging support that delivers upto 8 hours of talk time and 210 hours on standby. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Cyanogen 12.1 OS and will be available in colors – Black, White. Yu5050 is the first Micromax device to employ the Snapdragon 810 SoC and will be available exclusively through Snapdeal.

Alongside Yu5050 Micromax will also unveil its Yu4711 a super-affordable budget smartphone. The device comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz backed with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB RAM. It supports dual sim dual standby, and connectivity includes 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB 2.0. Yu4711 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and like the Yu5050, Cyanogen 12.1 is pre-installed on the Yu4711, and the phone will also offer a quick charge feature. We can expect the pricing and other details of this device to be officially unveiled on September 8.

Micromax’s Yu brand started sending invites last week for the launch of its next smartphone (or smartphones) on Tuesday. The media invite included a tagline that read, “When future meets past. The next wonder will be unveiled” and was accompanied by an image of a handset. The company even started teasing the upcoming devices via social platforms.
