The seven-year-old firm that was started in the year 2007 stepped into the tablet market in the year 2011, and this Indian technology and consulting firm is also into the domestic robots market. The company has released its Milagrow M2 Pro 3G tablet in the month of August in 16 and 32 GB variants that support 3G network. Milagrow could not impress many with its TabTop range of tablets as there are many bigger companies like Samsung, HTC, LG and few others striving to be on the top. This Milagrow M2 Pro 3G is priced around Rs. 21,000 and is available for purchase.
Coming to the design of this tablet, Milagrow M2 pro is made up of plastic and gives a metallic look at the back, giving it a royal feel. On the front side, the device has a 2 MP camera on the top beside the earpiece, the light sensor to the right and the normal sensors to its left. There is nothing at the bottom on the front side, whereas the volume rockers and power buttons are on the right side of the device, and at the bottom you can see the mic. At the back of the tablet, there is an 8 MP camera with LED flash, and you can also find the SIM card and memory card slot trays. At the bottom, company’s branding is clearly visible and below are the speaker grills with the reset pin hole on the top. The built quality of the device is pretty decent, but the device is on the heavier side at 390 grams. The dimensions are at 135.00 x 200.00 x 10.00 mm making it a bit bulky and even the bezels also occupy a large space on the tablet, but it would definitely impress the people who like to hold big devices.
The Milagrow M2 Pro 3G has a 7.9 inch touchscreen display with a 768 x 1024 pixel resolutions, which is decent enough to give good viewing angles with a pixel density of 160 ppi, i.e. quite low. The device comes out of the box with outdated Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which is a bit disappointing considering that most devices are now coming up with KitKat OS, while people are also waiting for the next version of Android, slated to release later this fall. As it boasts the stock Android OS experience it should not be difficult to operate for the first-time users and is pre-installed with some widgets, though, you can get custom launchers from Google Play Store. Moreover, we see tablets sporting the 16:9 aspect ratio, but this device comes with 4:3 ratio for easier use.
Coming to the specification of the device, the Milagrow M2 Pro 3G is powered by a quad-core Rockchip CPU at 1.6 GHz coupled with Mali 400 GPU and a 2 GB of RAM. These are good enough specifications that can provide decent performance. The device we are using comes with a 32 GB on-board memory out of with 27 GB is user available, and it can be expandable up to 64GB via microSD. It also supports USB OTG up to 1 TB external HDD support, which is an incredible add-on. The 8 MP rear camera used on the device failed to impress us that has two screen modes – Night and Auto – though, the indoor images were poor when compared to other 8 MP devices. There is also a 2 MP front-facing camera that was mostly used for video calls, but will have pixels issue as the resolution is low.
Milagrow M2 Pro 3G supports voice calling through SIM and is also a 3G variant, and has a 4000 mAh battery on it which has taken quite a bit of time to charge completely when compared to other tablets with similar specifications. The UI also did not impress us much but is decent enough for normal usage. We are not sure about the performance of the device yet and will be letting you know all that in our complete review after we use it for few days.
The device failed to impress me in any aspect in the initial stage except for its built quality, but we can expect something better in the performance once we start using it, and performing different tests on it. There are many other decent tablets coming in the range of Rs. 20,000 and we hope to see that the company look at this aspect and comes out with something better than their M2 Pro 3G at the same price range. Let us wrap it up here and will be coming back with the in-depth review of this device very soon.
