Get Moto X Active Display Features on Any Android 4.3 Smart Phone

We know you would be wanting to have the awesome features of the Moto X in your Android smartphone rather than having the phone itself which came in with two amazing things – Interface, Design. Everything else looks quite low when compared to the other best smartphones in the league. So, there’s an option for those who wanted to have the Active Display features of the Moto X on their smartphones, but the device has to be on the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version to use that app.

ActiveNotifications is the application we are talking about, which brings some excellent changes and features to the lock screen, making each notification worth noticing, and easier to open directly from the lock screen. With Motorola working more on the user experience than the specs, the Active Display seems to be a good feature for the users who like to be connected to the web all the time. The ActiveNotifications does the similar job for the other devices. Instead of unlocking the screen and activating the display, you can directly, in short, check the notifications such as the SMS, Gmail mails, Facebook notifications and for the apps which you select.

There’s Premium Features too

Sometimes, not everything comes for free, and the same applies here because the App does provide some basic features for free but you need to pay $0.99 if you want to have Premium features such as:

  • Sleep at night – Don’t show any notifications at night at specified time range
  • More privacy – Hides additional notification details, such as the text of SMS, sender name etc.
  • Switch off the screen automatically when notifications are dismissed

To make you understand about what is changed and how you can access the notification, here’s how the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4 had the unlocking option – Swipe to the right for Unlock, Swipe to the left for any shortcut. But now with this app, you need to:

  • Swipe below to unlock the screen
  • Swipe above to check the notification and open the app
  • Swipe to left or right to dismiss the notification

You can select any applications whose notifications you choose to show on the lock screen, and the premium features as listed above would come handy if you are planning to use this app for a good time ahead and take full advantage of it.

To download the app, you can either go to the Play Store and install the app from there, or check below for the download link for the APK file which you could install on your device locally.

If at all while installing the APK file on your device, you see a parsing error, the most common reason for that could be the Android version compatibility, and you need to ensure that your device is running on Android 4.3, because this app wouldn’t run on the previous Android versions.
Why just Android 4.3 and not the earlier versions? It is because of the “NotificationListenerService” feature which is being used by the app, and this feature is a part of only the latest Android version.
