Update: Motorola has made the Droid Maxx official with the pricing of $299.99 wit Verizon for the 2-year contract, and the device looks brilliant with the specs, and as the name suggests, a good battery having the capacity which we expected earlier. It’s the 5-inch touchscreen which has got the 720p resolution, and its 1.7 GHz Dual Core with Quad–Core Graphics, assisted with 2GB of RAM which would be enough for powering the device for heavy usage.
The Maxx comes with the 32 GB of internal storage, and when you call it Maxx, there’s everything at max except the screen resolution, which is not a 1080p one in either of the devices launched today by Motorola. The Maxx has got a 10MP RGBC camera with quick capture and it is capable of recording videos at 1080p full HD with 60 fps. The front shooter is a 2 megapixel one which can also take pictures at 1080p resolution.
The battery of 3500 mAh is said to provide usage for around 48 hours continuously but we can know about that only based on our usage, but the standby time given is up to 25 days. Check below for the specifications and the pricing details.

With the Razr brand being slowly moved away by Motorola, there have been recent news about a series of smartphones being made by the company, all with the Droid tag, and the names that showed up were Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and the other one which is highly anticipated, the Moto X. For now, we’ve got some details from again the trusted source, Evleaks, about the Droid Maxx, which is modeled XT1080M and the devices except the Maxx recently passed the FCC certification, so everything that is being talked is not just assumptions.
The Droid Maxx is rumored to have a 3500 mAh battery, and the Maxx word is well justified here because the Droid Razr Maxx HD which was launched last year by Motorola, had a 3300 mAh battery, and there is a slight increase in the capacity which looks quite good for now.
Along with the heavy battery, there is even wireless charging in the pipeline, and that should be an added advantage for the users who already would be happy with the heavy capacity to last longer. And as most of the devices go, Moto is going to launch these devices with Verizon in the US market.
Thanks to AndroidPolice and their efforts in digging through the FCC certifications, from where the battery capacity of the device and the other Droid devices was found, and just to add as a comparison – the Droid Ultra XT1080 would be having a 2,130 mAh battery, and the Droid Mini will have a 2,000 mAh one.
Amidst all these leaks and assumptions, one big disappointment lies with the Moto X, whose leaked specs are quite less than what one would expect – a 2200 mAh battery which would not at all look good when the devices like Droid Maxx have 1.5x the battery capacity, and when people would be more inclined towards buying the Moto X, for its sensational entry to happen soon.
Is it one of those devices which would appear in the booths of Motorola at IFA Berlin in September? let’s hope for that!
