Motorola posts the changelog for Android 5.1 on the Moto X 1st gen

Motorola has started rolling out the Android 5.1 update to the first generation Moto X. So far, Brazil is the only country getting the update but it’s likely that it will spread to other regions shortly. A change list has been posted in Portuguese for the Android 5.1 update.

The Android 5.1.1 update includes Material Design animations, Lock Screen notifications, Smart Lock which allows you to unlock your phone when paired with an Android Wear powered device, and the 64-bit ART compiler which will open apps faster. The new Recent Apps menu is part of the update, and Quick Settings will now appear with a two-finger slide down from any page. Speaking of Quick Settings, a new flashlight feature can be found on that page.

The update also include the Battery Saving Mode which limits apps running in the background to extend your battery life, a new battery setting panel which shows how much time is remaining until your battery is dead and how much time is left until it is fully charged.
