M-Tech Launches Android-Based Jazbaa Smartphone Named After Bollywood Film Jazbaa

Nowadays, many filmmakers are opting for smartphone platforms by launching exclusive apps and games to promote their movies. Earlier, we have seen many tech giants including Samsung, Asus, HTC and Micromax inviting film stars to launch their smartphones. Recently, Samsung has partnered with Marvel to launch Iron Man Edition Galaxy S6 Edge. Earlier, Indian smartphone manufacturer Karbonn announced a Rajnikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan themed smartphone.

Now, M-Tech has launched a smartphone called ‘Jazbaa’ in association with the film ‘Jazbaa.’ The handset is named after the Aishwarya Rai and Irfan Khan starer movie of the same name that is releasing this October 9. M-Tech launched the Jazbaa phone in a promotional event of Jazbaa Movie held at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi where the stars of the Jazbaa film – Aishwarya Rai, Irfan Khan, and Director Sanjay Gupta – and co-founder of M-tech Mobile, Vivek Agarwal, and co-founder Gautam Jain were present.

Commenting on the Launch, Vivek Agarwal said, “With the launch of Jazbaa smartphone we intend to penetrate not only metros but also Tier II and Tier III markets. Jazbaa phone reflects our passion to provide the customers with unmatched technology and service. To provide the masses with affordable phones is the vision of the company and Jazbaa phone has been designed keeping the same in the mind. The thought of naming it Jazbaa was to dedicate it to the passion behind the design of the phone. Linking it to the movie, and dedicating its launch with it, is a marketing move.”

Coming to its specifications, The Jazbaa phone flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display with a pixel density of 294ppi and comes powered by MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali 400 GPU. The device has 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, and it also includes microSD card slot for expansion upto 32GB.

On the camera front, it sports a 13MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and a 5MP front shooter for video calling and selfie clicks. The device has dual sim dual standby support and connectivity options on the device include 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0. The downside of the smartphone is it does not come with the 4G-LTE support that is available in most devices these days.

The handset comes backed by a 2000mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Its dimensions are 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs around 150 grams. The smartphone will be available in colors- Black, White and is priced at Rs. 8,999.
