Nokia C1 – Nokia’s upcoming Android Smartphone press renders Leaked

There are many rumours that Nokia will re-enter the smartphone space in 2016 after its contract with Microsoft terminates later this year. After initially denying it, even the Finnish company’s CEO Rajeev Suri said we should, in fact, expect to see some Nokia-branded smartphones next year. The first of those devices could be Nokia C1 and it will be Nokia’s first device that runs on pure Android OS.

It is not the first time Nokia C1 has been leaked, in December 2014 also we came across some leaked images of Nokia C1 suggesting that the company is developing an Android-based smartphone. Now, freshly leaked images of C1 have been posted on Weibo (China’s Twitter equivalent) and if the Nokia C1 turns out to be real, it will complement the company’s already released Nokia N1 tablet that is currently available in select Asian markets.

The unannounced smartphone is expected to arrive with mid-range specifications like a 5-inch 720p HD display, an unspecified Intel’s Atom chip coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. It could sport an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5MP front shooter, and connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS can also be expected.

The leaked renders of the device depict that the device will use a unibody construction with curved edges and ultra thin bezels, but it is not clear whether we are looking at a metal or a plastic body. The leaked images also show the front and back camera’s, a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top and a USB port at the bottom.

Nokia hasn’t officially announced anything and as these are just leaked renders, we advise to take this with a pinch of salt.
