OnePlus 2 Launched with 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 810 SoC, Fingerprint Scanner and USB Type-C Features at $329

Update: July 28, 7: 45 AM IST : OnePlus has revealed its next generation smartphone that we all have been waiting for. The Chinese manufacturer have launched the OnePlus Two smartphone today. This was the most awaited smartphone of this year, featuring whooping 4GB RAM and a fingerprint scanner; the specifications are already been revealed by the company earlier. The device is all set to go on sale from August 11 the US, Canada, India, EU, and China.

The device is priced at $329 for a 16GB variant and $389 for a 64GB variant, which very much a killing price for device with such high end features.

Earlier: July 16, 13: 12 : According to the latest blog of OnePlus, there will be physical invite cards for the OnePlus 2. With the OnePlus 2, the company is introducing a “few key improvements to the purchase experience”. OnePlus will have a more launch inventory as compared to last time and will be significantly easier to get an invite from the very beginning claims OnePlus. The company also unveiled the “reservation list”, you just have to enter your email and OnePlus will send you an invite as soon as they’re available.

The company also revealed a picture of the new phone hiding behind its predecessor. So it’s clear that the upcoming phone will be smaller than its predecessor. The OnePlus team also teased that the camera is a high priority feature for the company, and that more details would be revealed during the launch. Pei also revealed that the company’s “early supporters will be prioritized” when it comes to reserving a OnePlus 2. More details on exactly how that will work are coming soon.

OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 2 would have 4GB of LPDD4 RAM. The announcement was made on the OnePlus forums and their social media pages. The company says it is the “latest and greatest” on the market. OnePlus says that the inclusion of LPDDR4 means that apps will load even faster and offer both never-before-seen energy savings and smoother gameplay.

The company has already confirmed Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, USB Type-C port, and fingerprint sensor. One Plus One will be officially announced on 27th July at 7:00PM PT via a virtual launch event.
OnePlus has just revealed on their social site pages that the OnePlus 2 will feature a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. With Type-C, a USB cable’s both ends will be the same, allowing for reversible plug orientation. You also don’t need to worry about plugging it in upside down.

Other than the OnePlus One, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to feature the new charging standard, as well as Google’s next Nexus device. The OnePlus 2 would be the first major flagship smartphone to feature USB Type-C.

The company has already teased the OnePlus 2, noting that it will feature a special version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. In addition to the charging port and processor confirmation, OnePlus also revealed that the next flagship’s price point would be higher than the rumored price of $322.

Although there have been reports that the 810 runs warmer than its predecessors, OnePlus assure you that they have taken all the necessary precautions and beyond to prevent this from occurring in the 2. OnePlus claims that they worked very closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to integrate an improved version of the chipset (v2.1) in the OnePlus 2, and fine-tuned both hardware and software. The 2 will be “cooler than ever”.

OnePlus has also worked to redesign its homegrown operating system – OxygenOS – to work more efficiently with the chip, allowing it to ‘intuitively know which processor should be used for what task, and it avoids using two or more processors that are right next to each other.’

Earlier a report on GizChina had noted how OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had discussed the specifications of his company’s upcoming smartphone on China’s Weibo site.The report said that Lau had spoken about how OnePlus Two will launch in Q3 of 2015 and will come with Snapdragon 810 SoC. It will be priced at $403, if one were to go by Lau’s comments on Weibo

A report in January tipped that the OnePlus Two smartphone will feature the same 5.5-inch display panel as seen on the original OnePlus One, but with an increased resolution from full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) to QHD (1440×2560 pixels).

After shaking up the market in the year 2014 with its killer One Plus ONE android smartphone, One Plus is all set to unveil its new flagship for the year 2015 with an undoubted name as “One Plus Two”. While we need to wait for a bit longer time than ever for this new flagship as in most of the countries, One Plus One has just been released in most of the countries and company wants to capitalize the sales of this version of device. One Plus 2 will arrive somewhere around Q3 of 2015 and will for sure come with more powerful features.

Specs and Features:
One Plus 2 android smartphone may come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, 4GB of RAM, and a 5.5-inch QHD display along with the other standard features of WIFI, Bluetooth and NFC capabilities. While there are still no official word on the detailed specs, these specs are definitely one of the comparable specs. Company also said that not just specs will be the focus for the company but also affordability, quality along with the best battery life is the immediate vision of the company. Chipset issues are doing the rounds in the One Plus One which company will look forward to fix the same in this version of device. Between July and September 2015, we can expect the launch of this new device. While Qualcomm fixes the issue with the Snapdragon 810 over heating episode, One Plus will look forward to overcome with some or other tweaks. One Plus also has got option of going with the Exynos processor if issues are not fixed by Qualcomm as Exynos has evolved faster than any other.
